Patch Response: How to Adjust After an Update
Civ VII tweaks numbers and mechanics by version, so the "meta" shifts. After a patch, don't panic — run a fixed routine to assess impact and get back on track.
1. What to read first
- Number changes: which units/buildings nerfed or buffed.
- Mechanic changes: Age system, Legacy Paths adjusted?
- AI changes: are rivals more aggressive?
2. Assess impact on your route
If you play Science, focus on Campus/space changes; Culture players watch Theater/tourism. Care only about your route, don't fear the whole notes.
3. Adjust
- Replace nerfed parts with alternatives (e.g. a weakened wonder to other bonus).
- Try newly buffed playstyles next game.
